Nederlands: Het schip "Noordam" van de Holland-Amerikalijn brengt, in het kader van het Marshall-plan, de eerste hulpgoederen uit Amerika de haven van Rotterdam binnen. Aan boord bevindt zich tarwe, stukgoed, soyaolie, landbouwmachines, staal en auto's. SHOTS: - met vuurwerk wordt het schip 's nachtst (drie uur in de ochtend), verwelkomd in de haven van Hoek van Holland; - in de ochtendschemering stoomt het schip de haven van Rotterdam binnen en meert af; - de Nederlandse zwemster Nel van Vliet stormt de loopplank af en wordt op de kade begroet; - havenarbeiders beginnen het schip mbv hijskranen te lossen; - de Amerikaanse ambassadeur, dr. H. Baruch (sik en wandelstok), komt, met echtgenote(?) en gezelschap, over de kade aanlopen en begeeft zich naar de Philadelphia-loods van de HAL; - int. loods: een groot gezelschap luistert naar sprekers, oa minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, mr. C.G.W.H. baron van Boetzelaer van Oosterhout, de minister van Economische zaken, dr. J.R.M. van den Brink, en dr. Baruch; - de kapitein van het schip, Koster, overhandigt aan de minister van Landbouw, Visserij en Voedselvoorziening, ir. S.L. Mansholt, symbolisch een klein zakje tarwe; - Baruch, Mansholt en gezelschap lopen over de kade weg; - een elevator zuigt tarwe uit het ruim van de Noordam en stort het in het ruim van kleinere binnenvaartschepen.

On board there is wheat, general cargo, soy oil, agricultural machinery, steel and cars. SHOTS - with fireworks, the ship's nachtst (three hours in the morning), welcomed into the port of Hoek van Holland - in the dawn steam reached the port of Rotterdam and moors - the Dutch swimmer Nel van Brook rushing down the ramp and is greeted on the dock - port workers begin using cranes to unload the ship - the U.S. ambassador, Dr. Henry Baruch (goatee and cane), comes with his wife (?)
