A veryamusing description of one of these womenis given by Mr. Galton, in his well-knownwork on Southern Africa: — Mr. Halms household was large. Theseservants were chielly Hottentots, who hadmigrated with Mr. Hahn from Hottentot-land, and, like him, had picked up the lan-guage of the Damaras.
