THE VIENNA PSYCHOANALYST is a psychoanalytic online magazine based in Vienna (Austria) that started off as a Facebook group with several hundred international members. The online magazine was established in 2014 and has a wide, international audience. The magazine’s goal is to look at psychoanalytic research from a contemporary perspective and to revive the field’s rich history and knowledge. To encourage international dialogue, the articles are published in both German and English and cover current events as well as past issues from a psychoanalytic point of view. Independent from all existing institutions and associations, the magazine seeks to provide a platform for debate by making knowledge accessible to a wide readership.
THE VIENNA PSYCHOANALYST runs a global directory that includes practicing psychoanalysts as well as psychoanalytic researchers.
With the support of THE VIENNA PSYCHOANALYST, the first German psychoanalytic live radio show “UNBEWUSST – die Lust am freien Sprechen“ went on air in May 2015.
