European PEZ Vendors

PEZ vending machines were used in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The first German machines were introduced around 1954 (DWM and GWS), Switzerland followed suit, while in Austria they debuted in October 1956. The vendors were produced by DWM (Deutsche Waggon- und Maschinenfabrik, Berlin Germany), GWS (Georg Wiegandt und Söhne, Berlin Germany), Theodor Braun (Vienna Austria), and Glerios / R.Seipel & Co.

  When the price for a vend was increased to 3 coins extra space for the bigger cash-box had to be fitted below the chute. PEZ-girls had fallen out of favor, it shows "PEZ die süße Freude" (PEZ the sweet joy).
• Theodor Braun was the last company to produce PEZ vendors (they are out of business) and this is their last model (from the 1980s). Peter PEZ, 3way, for the Austrian market, vending 4 PEZ packs wrapped with plastic into a flat package.
