Mentorenprogramm

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Hi Ulla… welcome to the mentoring program. I will try to help you to get your article José Bernal posted. First of all, I suggest to transfer the entire article text to one of your own userpages, p.e. Benutzer:Ulla1540/Baustelle José Bernal. It will be necessary to work on the translation and we need to do some formal stuff, this would be the easiest way to edit the entire article. If you need help to create a new userpage, I’ll be around ;-), but I suppose you are used to the editing routines in WP… please leave me a note on this page, if you do need additional help for the first step. Oh, and best wishes for 2009 and your work in the German WP -- Ivy 00:42, 5. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hello, Poisend-Ivy|Ivy, and thank you!!! It appears you will be the perfect mentor for me especially because you have indicated exactly all that is necessary and you are willing to assist and guide me along the way. As you suggested, first I need help in creating a new userpage to transfer the entire article text, and then move forward, w/your guidance... Again, many thanks: DANKE!!! (Unfortunately, "danke" and a few other German words are the extent of my knowledge of the German language.) -- Ulla1540Ulla1540 19:02, 5. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Ulla, I now initiated the import of the English version and the edit history of the article to Benutzer:Ulla1540/Baustelle José Bernal. This is necessary to avoid a copyright violation. As soon as the import is done, you can overwrite the English article with the translation you already posted on Benutzer:Ulla1540. Then we’ll have to work on the references and the translation - it’s not really easy to read, if you are a native speaker ;-). But I’m sure we’ll get that done quite soon. Have a nice day → Ich wünsche dir einen schönen Tag -- Ivy 23:26, 5. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi, Poisend-Ivy|Ivy, or should it be one or the other? Please, let me know. Another "THANK YOU," as you have already imported the English article on José Bernal. I await your next command... [Pardon the question, but does "Ich wünsche dir einen schönen Tag" mean "Have a nice day"?] W/appreciation, Ulla1540Ulla1540 17:27, 6. Jan. 2009 (CET) Poisend-Ivy | Ivy, hello... Just wondering if I have omitted something and -because of my omission- the import of the English version has been delayed. If so, please let me know what I must do. My apologies and w/appreciation for your assistance, Ulla1540Ulla1540 18:23, 16. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Ulla… sorry, I haven’t seen your response :-(… but now, you need to tranfser the german text on your user-page (Ulla1540) to the Page User:Ulla1540/Baustelle José Bernal… just overwrite the english version with the german one and the legal part ist done. If you need help, leave me a note on my discussion-page. „Ivy“ is much shorter to write ;-) -- Ivy 10:19, 30. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Ivy! I knew you had good reason for not responding before. I gave some thought to what you told me to transfer: "the german text on [my] user-page... to the Page User:Ulla1540/Baustelle José Bernal... just overwrite the english version...and the legal part is done," BUT I was not able to figure out HOW/WHAT to do. Oh, I see you asked I leave you a note on your Discussion Page, I will do so now... Thanks, as always, Ulla 18:43, 30. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Please

  • do not put again the template "Mentor gesucht" on your user page. This template is for users who have not yet got a mentor assigned.
  • if you want to contact your mentor Ivy, write a note on her talk page: Benutzer Diskussion:Poisend-Ivy.
  • do not write notes (or articles) on your user page - it is meant for a short description of the user (you).

By the way...

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

To get the translation into the article, please edit both of them: [1] and [2], copy (1) and paste it into (2), remove all of the English text from (2). Then click on "Seite speichern" ("Save page").

However, I'm sorry to say the translation is of a very poor quality (it seems to me as if you - or the person who pretended to do the translation - have used an translation program, these are a pain in the *** rather than a real help), I fear the article cannot be put online in this form. Best would be to have it really translated (e.g. by a request for translation). --Reinhard Kraasch 19:46, 30. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Don’t…

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

…be upset, Ulla… everything is okay… we’ll get the fine-tuning of the article done soon. I’ll tranfer the text, and then i’ll help you get the german correct, as i told you in the beginning, and reinhard repeated - it ain’t really gorgeous ;-) - but it’s not necessary to set a request for translation, because i am doing a lot of translations from english to german, i’m gonna get it done. Anyway, there’s no reason to apologize… we all need some help using foreign wikis. Have a nice day -- Ivy 22:02, 30. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

POISEND... [you are Heavensent]...

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

...Ivy!!! Truly you (and Reinhard) -but especially YOU- have been Heaven sent to help me w/this article. Not that I do not want to take responsibility for the "it ain't really gorgeous" translation, but I know it was w/the best of intentions that my friend worked on it. Now, though, it is in your hands and you have offered to get it fine-tuned without a formal request for a much needed translation. You have made me feel immensely grateful... Here is wishing you a wonderful weekend. Ulla 23:47, 30. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Ulla… as you have seen Reinhard started with getting the article straight, I’m on call today (standby duty) and it doesn’t seem to be a quiet weekend *sigh*… I’ll try my best, but it will probably be monday noon, ’til I can begin helping Reinhard. Enjoy your weekend… (you too, Reinhard ;-), if you read this) -- Ivy 14:01, 31. Jan. 2009 (CET)Beantworten
I have meanwhile finished the translation (not that I would call it perfect - everybody is, of course, invited to spruce it up further) and moved the article to the article name space José Bernal. If the images of the English article where uploaded to Commons instead only locally in the English Wikipedia, we could use them in the article, maybe you might look after moving them to Commons. Regards and have a nice weekend from Germany. --Reinhard Kraasch 14:01, 1. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

TWO ANGELS...

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

In Chicago, Illinois, USA, the sky is clear, the Sun is shinning, and two Angels -Ivy & Reinhard- are gracing our earthly realm. Somehow, when I checked this yesterday, I did not "see" your notations above, but just now reading it has me amazed at your progress w/José Bernal. As I understood what was written, I ought NOT do anything at this point, except wait for you to tell me what I have to do. Thank you, Gracias, Danke!!! -- Ulla 18:02, 4. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

MEANWHILE...

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Ivy (& Reinhard) if you read the message I left you in your personal DISCUSSION site, you know I tried -and continued to try this morn- to move/transfer the images from the English article to COMMONS w/out success. But, I was wondering -perhaps- if I EMAIL YOU THE 3 IMAGES as attachments, then you will be able to upload them. Please let me know if THAT is possible and whether or not you be willing to do so and provide your email address... Ulla 18:43, 9. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Ulla, that’s not necessary… I’ll transfer the images to commons, then we can place them into your article ;-)… -- Ivy 18:49, 9. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Ivy, just returned to this site because I noticed I made a mistake on the number of images: 4 NOT 3, and you surprised me w/your instant reply to it. You are amazing!!! Once again, Ivy, thank you so very, very much!!! UllaUlla1540 18:59, 9. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Done… and placed in the article… Have a nice day :-) -- Ivy 19:17, 9. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

HOW DO I THANK YOU???

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Perhaps those words are considered a "figure of speech," but for me they are heartfelt for the kind and generous assistance you -and Reinhard- provided w/the José Bernal artiKel which -definitely- I was not qualified and unable to complete. I am -indeed- grateful for your work, your beautiful work!!! All best wishes, w/gratitude, Ulla 17:20, 10. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Ulla… nevermind… it was a pleasure. If you ever want to have another article translated, just leave a note ;-) I don’t suppose you need any further guidance by the mentoring program itself… therefore I would like to sign you out… If you ever need any help in the German WP, I would be pleased to assist you without signing you back into the program… would that be okay with you? All best wishes and it would be great to see you contribute in the English WP ;-) -- Ivy 23:09, 10. Feb. 2009 (CET)Beantworten

José Bernal - The Art Institute of Chicago

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Bitte entschuldige mein "Nachbohren" deswegen.

Disclaimer: As almost all of your topics on this page are in English, I'm not sure if I did well posting my above request in the German language. If so, dont't hesitate to post a message in English on my discussion page concerning translation of my above request.

Vielen Dank vorab, weiterhin Frohes Schaffen und schöne Ostertage / kind regards and a happy Easter, ---WolliWolli- Feedback 23:32, 23. Apr. 2011 (CEST)Beantworten
