Bettina Schlorhaufer (* 1963 in Innsbruck) is an Austrian art historian.

Career

Bettina Schlorhaufer

Bettina Schlorhaufer is the daughter of Ilse (née Ligges, 1929-2015) and the medical doctor and poet Walter Schlorhaufer (1920-2006). She studied art history and history at the Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck, in 1988 her doctorate was awarded with distinction. Dissertation on the topic Zur Geschichte eines Regionalmuseums der Donaumonarchie im Vormärz: Der Verein des Tiroler Nationalmuseums Ferdinandeum 1823–1848. 1989/1990 followed a postdoc study at the Institut Supérieur de Management Culturel ISMC (Paris), 1990 diploma with a concept for a Musée Nina Ricci in the perfume factory of Nina Ricci in Ury/Fontainebleau.

She then worked as a scientist, in the field of art and cultural management and as a curator. From 2005 to 2007 she was the leading curator of the Gallery of the Museum Rabalderhaus, Schwaz/Tyrol. At the same time she undertook "excursions" into the field of contemporary music (including idea and project management: Philip Glass "Tirol Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" and Erkki-Sven Tüür's "Oxymoron/Music for Tirol", both pieces premiered at the Klangspuren-Festival). Since 2009 she has been an assistant at the Institute for Architectural Theory and Architectural History, Department of Architectural Theory with Bart Lootsma. In 2011 she completed her habilitation in the subject "Neuere Architekturgeschichte" ("Modern Architectural History"). She lectures at the University of Liechtenstein and at the CUAS/Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in the subjects "Architectural History and Ethics" and "Architectural Theory".

2012–2015, "Musch & Lun. Architects, entrepreneurs and politicians of the Gründerzeit in South Tyrol", project leader. Research project, funded by: TWF 2012, Autonomous Province Bolzano-South Tirol/Research Competition 2013–2015.

2016-2019, "Berghotels in Südtirol, ca. 1880–1920" ("Mountain Hotels in South Tyrol, ca. 1880–1920"), project leader. Research project and scientific publication, commissioned by Touriseum Merano, South Tyrolean State Museum.
