Borsuk's chassis and dimensions[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Just to begin, I know German well enough to spot the mistakes, but not well enough to either correct them myself or write here in German.

OK, so the point - I see that the article says that the Borsuk is based on the UMPG chassis designed by the OBRUM. The short explanation is that it's not true, but to be more precise this mistake appears to be caused by the misunderstanding of what the UMPG abbreviation means and how it's being used.

So, UMPG means Uniwersalna Modułowa Platforma Gąsienicowa, Universal Modular Tracked Platform in English, and it means just that, it's not a name of any specific vehicle. And while this name was first publicly used by OBRUM to market the Anders platform as UMPG Anders, using abbreviations that way is common in Poland and when used that way they're not a part of the name, but just a type designation (for example in AHS Krab only the Krab is the name, AHS means Armatohaubica Samobieżna - Self Propelled Gun-Howitzer and roughly translates to SPG). And the same applies to the Borsuk's chassis - it's called UMPG because it's a Universal Modular Tracked Platform. And it was first called that way about half a year ago (on November 14th, during the Defense Minister's appearance on Borsuk's state trials)[1], so it wasn't called that way from the beginning.

Another thing is Borsuk's dimensions, they're wrong. The real dimensions are provided on the English Wikipedia, and the source for that are documents from HSW, so it's as reliable as it gets[2]. --Olekz17 (Diskussion) 22:08, 20. Mai 2023 (CEST)Beantworten
