Diskussion:Lagting (Norwegen)

This article describes two different things together that has nothing more in common than a name; therefore, the interwiki to no:Lagtinget and nn:Lagtinget is misguiding or even wrong. Please note the difference between a nordic Lag-ting in general (a Law-thing), and the various specific political assemblies named Lagtinget in Åland, Faroes and Norway.

The to last sections are describing a chamber in the Storting, existing between 1814 and 2009. The interwiki (no:Lagtinget and nn:Lagtinget) directs to articles about this chamber.

The first three sections are describing medieval political institutions in Norway, which is something different. This is already described in Thing#Norwegen, who has good interwiki to nn:Tinget and no:Ting (forsamling). My suggestion would be that these three sections are moved to and merged with Thing#Norwegen.

Nach [1] ist es genau umgekehrt. Dort wird die alte Thingversammlung unter dem Lemma „Lagting“ beschrieben. Und wenn ich mich recht entsinne, sind die Bezeichnungen „Storting“, „Odelsting“ und „Lagting“ ausdrücklich unter Rückgriff auf die klassische Zeit gewählt worden. Man wollte im Zuge der Nationalromantik an die vordänische Zeit anknüpfen. Der Artikel beschreibt also den inhaltlichen Wandel des Begriffs im Laufe der Geschichte und nicht die heutige Institution, die ja nur den Endpunkt dieser Entwicklung bezeichnet. Fingalo 18:36, 1. First let me say that since I wrote in english, and have stated in my userpage that I don't read german, I would have prefered for you to reply in english. Via google translate, I understand that you claim that this article describes the changing use of the word through ages. Fair enough, but that makes the interwiki wrong and misguiding. The no and nn articles desribes one thing only: a chamber in the Storting, existing from 1814 until 2009.

If might be proper to mention in 1-2 sentences that all the three Thing terms used in the 1814 constitution were inspired by ancient law, but with its current struture this article is out of proportion, and seem to be inspired by the same german interest for viking history that gave us the statue of Frithjof. Please do describe contemporary norwegian politics when that is the matter, and leave Gulathingslov and ancient history for other articles. A natural comparision would be to let the article no:Forbundsdagen (Deutscher Bundestag) start with a description of the legislature of no:Otto I av Det tysk-romerske rike (Otto I., der Große); I hope you agree that that would be out of place!? The terms are also different. You can do it that way, especially when there are separate articles on how to Deutscher Bundestag and Bundestag (Deutscher Bund).
