Pittler move to the "West"

According to my father, Fritz Hoppe, who worked for Pittler in Leipzig and later in Langen, Hessen until his retirement, the move went this way. One night, before the Russians came to Leibzig, the US forces supplied trucks, Pittler employees took the machines apart, loaded them onto the trucks and took them and their families to the West. In Langen my father and friends built brick by brick the building to start the company again. 1948-49 I even "helped" by bringing lunch and occasionally my father's specs when he forgot them at home.
