Dezember 2011 Massaker von Uludere; 2012 aufgegriffen zum Thema Abtreibung[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Everything started with a few words said by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last week: “Whether you kill a baby in its mother's stomach or you kill a baby after birth, there's no difference.” He also added, “Every abortion is an Uludere.”

Uludere is the Kurdish village where Turkish fighter jets killed 34 innocent Kurds “by mistake” last December. The slogan “Abortion is a right, Uludere a massacre” has caught on like wildfire.

The government says it will bring a new abortion law to parliament later this month.

The No to Banning Abortion campaign has promised to hold a mass demonstration if that happens.

a senior diplomat told the Hürriyet Daily News in reference to PM Tayyip Erdoğan’s statement last week that “every abortion is an Uludere, every abortion is a murder.”

Health Minister Recep Akdağ has said his ministry is drafting a law to ban or restrict abortion, and stated that babies born out of incidents of sexual assault would be protected by the state. The government will also take measures to reduce the number of Caesarian sections, he said.
