Januar 2007:

DEHRA DUN: Despite questions being raised about its timing, Uttaranchal finally became Uttarakhand on Monday. As a matter of fact, all that remained was a formality with President A P J Abdul Kalam giving his go-ahead last week and the state government issuing the requisite notification on Friday. State chief secretary S K Das said that from Tuesday (as Monday is a government holiday), all government documents would use the new name. Boards, hoardings and signages, all over the state, will be repainted. Also, all new stationery that will be printed for the government will bear the new name. Stationery which has the old name will, however, be first used. That the rechristening has come at a time when the assembly polls are just around the corner (February 2007) had the opposition BJP accusing the state government of acting with ulterior political motives. But the Congress government is undeterred. Quelle: [1] --Jungpionier 14:17, 15. Jan. 2007 (CET)[Beantworten]
