Die Datenbank gibt nur die von den nationalen Organisationen übermittelten Informationen wieder. Für manche Schutzgebiete wird zwar die Information übermittelt, das ein Schutzgebiet besteht, jedoch wird die Schutzgebietseinordnung nicht immer mit übermittelt oder es ist bisher keine erfolgt. In solchen Fällen wird in der WDPA-Datenbank ein Not Reported erfasst (in der Tabelle übersetzt mit k. A.).
